I love my IPad... but am I in love?
By Sam Mattingly
From the start, I was both curious and skeptical about the iPad -- curious to see what the big fuss was about, and skeptical about the need for yet another piece of technology that looked good but was far from necessary.

Eventually my curiosity got the better of me.  The iPad was both innovative, and as with all Apple products, esthetically pleasing to the eye. So, as fate would have it, the right circumstances presented themselves and I became the proud owner of an iPad.  I already owned an iPhone 3G and prior to that, I had a third generation iTouch which made it easy to adapt to using the iPad.

The iPad is a thing of beauty; light, sleek, and versatile, with a big multi-functional screen that makes working on documents, viewing photographs and watching movies much easier on the eye, than using its smaller counterparts, the iTouch or iPhone.  Everyday new apps are introduced especially for the iPad and having the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and hundreds of books at my disposal in one easy-to-carry devise is wonderful.

Even so, the question remains, is it worth it? If you already have an iTouch or iPhone, do you really need to part with an extra $500.00, for a bigger version of these tools?  And even if you don’t have either a Touch or iPhone, is having the iPad worth it?  For me it all came down to one thing – I am a techno-junkie with fashion sense.

Did I need the iPad?  NO.  Did I want it?  YES!  Why?  Because it’s cool, beautiful, and I love gadgets.  If you are anything like me, then you either own one or will soon because design, fashion, and the aura of cool matters to us as much as having the latest tech tool.
